About Us
The Hospital has Squadrons in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen and provides clinical support to regular army Operational Tours in times of conflict, peacekeeping and humanitarian situations. We provide secondary healthcare to both soldiers and civilians. Health care professionals will be employed according to their civilian qualifications and experience but will be expected to work in a challenging military environment that could be either in tents or buildings using simple but robust equipment. We will impart the knowledge and skills that are transferable from the peacetime setting to operational scenarios across the spectrum of conflict. The Reserve Forces also provides an excellent environment to network with other professional clinical staff as well as extending social circles.
Roles
In compliance with Clinical Governance, all clinical posts require the requisite governing body registration. Health Care Assistants must be in possession of or studying toward NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care. Electrical and Mechanical Engineers must have served or be in the process of serving an approved apprenticeship and requisite City and Guild London Institute qualification or equivalent.
Training
All of our Squadrons have training evenings every Wednesday evening from 7.30 to 9.390 pm. Initially, just turn up and we will show you around and let you know what being in the TA is all about.
