HMS Dalriada
About us
The Unit provides administrative support to all reservists, and also a weekly training programme aimed specifically at enhancing general naval knowledge, whilst also offering the opportunity for specialisations to 'top up' their training as required.
Joint training is carried out on a regular basis alongside our Royal Navy and Royal Marine colleagues thus ensuring good integration between regular and reserve forces. The end result is trained personnel ready to deploy to support the Royal Navy anywhere in the world.
There are various specialisations within DALRIADA all offering opportunities to learn new skills or perhaps utilise skills you already have. As a member of the Logistics specialisation you will train to operate a Forward Logistics Site anywhere in the world. As a member of the Seaman specialisation you could be deployed to be part of a SPO team responsible for maintaining the safety and security of a ship. As a member of the NCAGS specialisation you may find yourself as the Data Manager running a busy desk in an exercise.

Just turn up and we will show you around and let you know what being in the Royal Naval Reserve is all about. There’s no obligation to sign up – so why not give it a try?

Training
The weekly training night is held on a Wednesday night from 7.30 – 9.30 pm. The programme is varied but generally centres around Naval General Training. Areas covered include fitness, weapons handling and Drill practice. Royal Yachting Association sailing is offered during the spring and summer terms. There is an opportunity to socialise after the training night when individual messes are open for personnel to get together.
