VACANCY NOTICE FOR SENIOR ESTATE MANAGER
Lowland Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association is an enabling organisation supporting the Reserve Forces and Cadet Organisations across the region. Funded by the Ministry of Defence, one of our key functions is the management, maintenance and development of our estate, comprising 30 principal sites, in order to support the volunteer Reserve Forces units, generate capability and to enable youth development through the Cadet Organisations.
Based in our Glasgow office, the Head of Estates leads a focussed Estates team, supported by consultants and contractors, to maintain the built estate and to develop sites to meet the changing needs of our immediate customers (Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force) and Defence.
The Senior Estate Manager is responsible to the Head of Estates for providing technical direction, advice and assistance on all matters relating to the estate and to ensure the effective delivery of Estates services – hard FM and soft FM.
Applicants must be members of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors or the Chartered Institute of Building, or be able to demonstrate relevant experience in a similar role. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate successful managerial experience in middle or senior Estates management positions.
The post is full-time based on a 37-hour working week and the salary is £43,080 p.a. Annual leave, excluding public holidays, is 25 days rising to 30 days after 5 years’ service. Previous service in the public sector will count towards qualifying years’ service. The successful applicant will be eligible to join the Council of RFCA Pension Scheme subject to the rules of the scheme. The scheme is a Career Average Revalued Earnings Scheme (CARE), which has a personal contribution of 5% of pensionable earnings for Members. Applicants must have a clean driving licence and should live within reasonable commuting distance of Glasgow. A significant amount of travel is involved, therefore candidates must be prepared to travel and, periodically, spend nights away from home. An Association vehicle is provided.
