Last weekend Cadets from West Lowland Battalion Army Cadet Force were called upon to help with the Boswell Book Festival. Held at Dumfries House the Boswell Book Festival is one of Scotland’s most prestigious cultural events and attracts a host of writers and celebrities.

The Army Cadets were thrilled when Lady Glenconner, Princess Margaret’s former Lady in Waiting, took the time to regale them with tales of her life.

Having been a Maid of Honour at the Queen’s Coronation, Lady Glenconner was well placed to speak of the Queen’s commitment, determination, courage and service; all of which are key Cadet values.

The Cadets were inspired and motivated by Lady Glenconner’s stories and were delighted that she posed for a photograph with them on the steps of Dumfries House.
