Scotland’s most forces-friendly employers have been invited to apply for top awards from the Ministry of Defence.
The Gold and Silver Employer Recognition Scheme Awards recognise employers that are going above and beyond the commitments they set out to achieve when they signed the Armed Forces Covenant, and rewards organisations that are leaders within their industry sector in advocating support to Defence People issues to partner organisations, suppliers and customers.
Colin Vooght, Head of Engagement at Lowland Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association, the organisation which manages relationships between employers and Defence in Scotland, said: “The Employer Recognition Scheme recognises the contribution companies and institutions of all sizes and sectors make in supporting the armed forces community in Scotland.
“Some of Scotland’s most recognisable companies – household names like Rangers Football Club, Edinburgh Napier University, Scottish Rugby, Standard Life Aberdeen, Lothian Buses and ScottishPower – have already achieved Gold or Silver Awards in recent years, and we know there are other companies out there who deserve recognition for all they do to support Defence in Scotland.”
