Employing a Reservist

Reservists undergo rigorous training, which develops key skills such as leadership, teamwork and organisation. These skills form the foundations of not only an invaluable Reservist, but an invaluable member of your workforce. The average Reservist receives training in transferable skills which could cost an organisation over £8000pa to implement. Defence recognises the commitment of employers of Reservists, and offers advice and support for organisations. Legislation also allows employers, Reservists and self-employed Reservists financial assistance for the duration of their mobilisation.

Defence Relationship Management (DRM)

The Ministry of Defence’s Relationship Management (DRM) team provides an accessible interface for employers in the UK to partner with Defence. DRM can help your organisation form the right partnerships and act as a trusted, single point of access to all Defence personnel initiatives. From the moment you indicate your willingness to support Defence, DRM will work with you to tailor opportunities to meet your own goals. For more information, visit the DRM website…

Showing Your Support

Businesses and other organisations can demonstrate the support they provide to the Armed Forces by signing the Armed Forces Covenant. Supportive employers of Reservists are also recognised through Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards.
