We would like to wish a warm welcome to our new Deputy Chief Executive, David Pettigrew. David will continue Elaine Ferguson’s brilliant work of looking after all things Cadets & Youth at Lowland RFCA.

David lives in Killearn with his wife Kirsten. They’ve been married for over thirty years and have two grown-up children.

After thirty years with Strathclyde Police and then Police Scotland, David retired after finishing his policing career as the Deputy Divisional Commander at Renfrewshire and Inverclyde Division. A career highlight was being the Event Policing Lead at live music events (e.g. TRNSMT Festival) and high-risk football matches. David also enjoyed representing Police Scotland at EUROPOL in Belgium and the Hague.

Since retiring he continued working in the events sector and spent time in Saudi Arabia as the Event Manager for Balad Beast in Jeddah and Sandstorm in Riyadh.

In his spare time David dotes over his classic cars, enthusiastically plays golf, and sings in a Rock Covers band.

When asked what he’s looking forward to most about his new position, David said: ‘The reason this role appealed to me was the opportunity to give young people an interest in life that is challenging and rewarding and gives life skills for the future.’
