Deciding how to make the most of your university experience can sometimes feel a bit daunting.

Fortunately, most universities will run a Freshers’ Fair to introduce first years to the large amount of clubs and societies on offer.

Whilst cheese tasting clubs and acapella societies will suit some, they might not be for everyone.

If you are looking for something a bit different, for extraordinary experiences, and the opportunity to get paid, it might be worth your time to consider your university’s military unit.

With land (University Officer Training Corps, Army), sea (University Royal Naval Units) and air (University Air Squadrons) units throughout Scotland, we are confident there is something for everyone.

To give you an insight in to these special student units, we have been speaking to some of their members from universities across the East and West of Scotland.
